The change is not just a longer query. The result is a narrative that selects, frames, and may support a much smaller set of choices.
1. The result surface is different
A search results page presents ranked listings and features. A generated answer may synthesize several sources into prose, a table, or a short recommendation list. A business can rank organically without being named in the generated response, and a source may influence an answer without holding the first organic position for the exact prompt wording.
